Service and Techniques
At Parker Integrative Health, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different chiropractic services we offer in our Parker office.
We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing “state of the art” chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As Doctors of Chiropractic, Dr. Robert Birch and Dr. Paola Porrone have years of training and experience in spinal adjustment.
The wellness approach is to look for underlying causes of any disturbance or disruption and make whatever interventions and lifestyle adjustments necessary to optimize the conditions for healing and vibrant health. This approach stimulates the body’s natural healing processes and minimizes the need for invasive treatment.
We can help you achieve another level of health that goes beyond “asymptomatic” or “pain-free” which reveals an open-ended opportunity for vitality and an enhanced experience of life. This is true for mental and emotional health as well as physical health.
If health care treats just the tip of the iceberg, it rarely leads to long-term relief and vibrancy. Identifying the underlying root cause or causes, as Functional Medicine does, offers patients a much better chance to successfully resolve their health challenges.
As the iceberg graphic shows, a named disease such as diabetes, cancer or fibromyalgia might be visible above the surface, but according to Functional Medicine, the cause lies in the altered physiology below the surface. Almost always, the cause of disease and its symptoms is an underlying dysfunction and/or an imbalance of bodily systems.
Using scientific principles, advanced diagnostic testing and treatments other than drugs or surgery, Functional Medicine restores balance in the body’s primary physiological processes. The goal: the patient’s lifelong optimal health.
Peripheral Neuropathy is a result of damage to your peripheral nerves; it often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet. It can also affect other areas of your body. People often describe stabbing, burning or tingling pain. We offer a unique electrotherapy treatment called Horizontal Therapy using the Hako-Med device, which can:
• Stimulate peripheral nerves to provide pain relief.
• Stimulate muscle nerves for muscle re-education.
• Provide management and relief of chronic pain.
• Alleviate and manage post-surgical pain.
• Aid in relaxation of muscle spasms.
• Aid in prevention or retardation of tissue atrophy.
• Provide immediate post-surgical stimulation of the calf muscles to prevent phlebothrombosis.
Acupuncture, when done right, can be a powerful tool in helping you heal from many health concerns.
The goal of an acupuncturist is to look for the root of a problem and treat that root issue, rather than just treating the symptoms, the result being more lasting relief.
Acupuncture is well known for its role in pain relief; however, it is also used to treat respiratory and gastrointestinal issues, diabetes, obesity, sleep troubles, circulatory disorders, fertility issues and much more.
Neurotherapy is also called “EEG Biofeedback” and “Neurofeedback”. It involves helping a person learn how to modify his or her brainwave activity to improve attention, reduce impulsivity, and to control hyperactive behaviors.
Neurofeedback offers a painless, non-invasive approach to treating learning and behavorial disorders including ADD/ADHD, anxiety, insomnia, depression, addictions and PTSD. It can also alleviate chronic pain and many illnesses.
Typically before a client has any brainwave training a qEEG is done. Quantitative Electroencephalography (qEEG) is a procedure that processes the recorded EEG activity from a multi-electrode recording using a computer. This digital data is analyzed, comparing values with “normative” database reference values.
This information is then interpreted and used by experts as a clinical tool to evaluate brain function, and to track changes in brain function due to various interventions such as neurofeedback or medication.
Neurofeedback can help:
• ADD/ADHD • Addictions
• Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia
• Head Injuries • Memory Loss
• Chronic Pain • Libido
• PMS • PTSD
• Sleep Disorders • Migraines
• Balance • Stroke Complications
• Weight Issues • Golf Improvement
• Sensory Motor Integration
• Reading • Writing • Math
• Anger • IBS • Dementia
• Visual & Auditory Processing
Electromagnetic fields affect the charge of the cell membrane, rebalancing it so that membrane channels can open up. These channels are like the doors and windows of a house – by opening them, oxygen and nutrients are better able to enter the cell, and carbon dioxide and waste are more easily eliminated from the cell. This helps to rebalance and restore optimum cell function.
If you restore and rebalance enough cells, they will all work more efficiently. By restoring or maintaining cellular function, you will in turn restore or maintain organ function, allowing the entire body to function better. This is the basis for magnetic field therapy to combat a variety of health conditions, and, when possible, prevent cellular damage from happening in the first place.
